2012 National Soft – Hard – Release Fishing Competition
16.1.12: With regret we have made the decision to cancel the 2012 Soft-Hard-Release Fishing competition.
The summer season at Waihi Beach has been more difficult this year with adverse weather and the Rena beach contamination. The consequence of this is that the general level of enthusiasm for fishing is a lot lower than we usually see at this time of year. Also, the impact on local trading conditions has affected many of the businesses we have been targeting for sponsorship and we therefore feel that it is inappropriate to ask for their support at this time.
We are looking at holding an alternative, smaller, local competition so watch this space for news.
